The Lykke

The Lykke – by Wind River Tiny Homes

LP SmartSide siding, cedar trim with stainless fastners

Lykke is the Danish word for “happiness”. This 24 ft tiny home on wheels features a cozy interior inspired by Danish design and the Hygge lifestyle movement. The layout is spacious with the storage stairs inset into the loft space for a more open plan.

The loft fits a full size bed but it could also fit a queen size bed even with the inset stairs. The gray color on the interior walls has a warm undertone as does the gray glass subway tile kitchen back splash. Cooler tones are contrasted with the custom blue cabinets.

The Lykke is packed with storage space. The storage stairs, built-in closets, built-in storage couch, loft shelving and cubbies all provide ample space for stashing the essentials and not cluttering up the tiny space.

Here are some more features of the Lykke tiny house:

  • LP SmartSide exterior siding and natural cedar trim
  • LP SmartSide lap siding painted “Wind River Gray” by Sherwin Williams

  • Stained cedar trim with stainless steel fasteners

  • Fiberglass exterior entrance painted “Aquarium” by Sherwin Williams

  • Wind River Tiny Homes custom fabricated copper outdoor shower

  • Galvalume Tuff-Rib metal roof

  • Tongue and groove walls painted “Gray Screen” by Sherwin Williams

  • Custom blue cabinets and built-in closets with matching cabinet doors painted “Rainstorm” by Sherwin Williams

  • Stainless steel counter top

  • Gray glass subway tile back splash

  • Butcher block tread storage stairs

  • Built-in storage couch that converts to a bed. Custom upholstery

  • Custom entertainment center shelving for projector and console

  • 3/4” pre-finished hardwood floors

  • Splendide ventless combo washer/dryer

  • Owner opted for 2 burner electric cooktop that stows away in the cabinet drawer, allowing for more counter space when not in use

We are especially proud of the owner’s forethought for situating The Lykke tiny house. One contractor did the grading, leveling, gravel, river rock boarder, and skirting, whereby the wheels were removed, the frame set on blocks and the skirting installed to create a crawlspace under the house. Another contractor did the wrap-around deck, awning, and booth for the outdoor shower. The Lykke is nestled very nicely in the woods and this is a good example of best practices for semi-permanent setup for a tiny house.
